I have a lot of artistic and technical interest in cinematography. In my teens and early twenties I made many movies in Super 8, Standard 8, and a few in 16mm. In years 11 and 12 I studied film and tv and was top of my class, and was chosen to write, direct and also shoot a 25 minute sound theatrical film. My movie was a popular success to large audiences at my school.
I believe that a healthy motion picture industry needs both film and digital production capability. Film will always be the gold standard because it is a more interesting and more artistic medium. Crucially, it's also the foundational medium that defines the art form of cinema. Images caught on digital, a wonderful technical achievement in itself, should actually be called video even if viewed in a cinema. If video can be made to look truly like film, then great. So far, it doesn't look like film. Digital projection of images photographed on film looks good, so that gets a pass :)
I'm also interested in recording of music soundtracks for films, especially involving professional orchestras. I'm a classically-trained musician with experience in recording, orchestration and conducting, and working with composers.
