I have a lot of interest in cinematography. In my teens and early twenties I made many movies in Super 8, Standard 8, and a few in 16mm.

One of my sound movies, nearly half an hour long that I directed and photographed with a cast of four, was a popular success to large audiences at my school. In post production a musician friend and I slogged away on the soundtrack in the back room of the library for a whole week, missing all classes. The principal accosted me and publicly yelled his head off at me. But the film was a roaring success! By the way, he was a good principal, and he thought very highly of me.

In my opinion film origination will always be the gold standard because it is a more interesting and more artistic medium. Images from an Alexa are nice enough, though :)

I'd just prefer to use film if I could, and lately I've been doing so. The look, to my eye, is better. I have degrees in classical music and in science, and currently work in publishing. I'd be interested to work in the film industry, so get in touch if you'd like. My favourite, most recent productions I've seen are Darkest Hour (2017) and Far from the Madding Crowd (2015). The latter is especially notable for having been shot entirely on 35mm film, including the low-light footage. The look of this movie is amazingly fetching - it's art and entertainment wrapped in one bundle. A fine creation.

Btw, I might be going to sell my Bolex S16 Rex 5 soon, which is in very fine condition, has a strong spring, and works perfectly. I'd like to buy a 2 perf camera.
