anyone know where I can buy uv mercury vapor lights and large strobe lights to emulate a techno club for a music video? Preferably in LA.

Mercury Vapor lights? I suppose you could ask any electrician or contractor where they get their's if they build a lot of wherehouses and such. Strobe lights, any place that sells DJ equipment, I would guess.

he's looking for uv lights.

Strobe lights, any place that sells DJ equipment, I would guess.

second that. uv lights too. i don't live or work in los angeles but just to prove that i tried to help ;-) here's a link to a swedish supplier that i often use:

both large uv lights and large strobes sell for around $500 so perhaps renting is a better idea? or even renting a real night club for an evening?

If you want UV lights to actually illuminate a scene, such as in the film The Game, then you should look into some specialty fixtures such as the Wildfires. Regular UV bulbs won't put out enough to be of much use.
