I'm planning a shoot using an Arri S were we film items being broken in slow motion. I'm trying to find a motor that can run at least 64fps and over but have had no luck in finding one. Does such a motor exist for the Arri S and where. The Arri variable speed motor only runs up to 50 fps.
If you are going to be using the Arri 16S at higher than 50fps, you need to find one of the few high speed Arri 16S cameras. I run across one every now and then. They go up to 80fps if memory serves.
Running 12 volts through the standard Arri variable speed motor can sometimes make them run faster than 50fps (it can also burn them out), but you risk damaging the camera unless you have one that goes to 80fps.
