Like having everything blend in nicely (like TV commercials)
At night too??

Someone explain it to me, I tried searching the forums but I'm unable to find anything.

Low-contrast films are naturally lower in saturation, but you can pump up the saturation digitally in post.

But I'd say the best solution is to art direct and light for more color saturation, use a normal stock, and light for less contrast (use softer light or more fill.) Pump up the colors in post if necessary.

You could even use a HIGH contrast stock like color reversal 5285 and process normally, transfer it to video, but art direct and light it for a very low contrast (i.e. very flatly.)

You have to understand that contrast and color are sort of tied together -- good blacks give the impression of richer colors.
