I just got off the phone with a line producer who's getting me work as a PA in the camera department on a music video next week. She said they were using a camera called an "A-camera" made by Arri, that takes especially small loads.

I had never heard about it. And I can't seem to find anything about it. Was she talking out her a**(camera)?

And if not, what's the deal with this camera?

Thanks!

She was probably talking about this a-cam. It's not made by Arri though.

Or, she could be talking about you working on the A-camera as opposed to the B-camera and that the camera used probably (from the description) is an Arri 235....

she must be refering to the minima which is a 16mm camera that takes in only 200ft. loads.

boy yniguez> you mean the Aaton A-minima, yes it could be that, just as well.

Look, a line producer usaually knows not much about these technical details, ask the phone number of a technician camera of the crew and ask him or her exactly what it is...

The deal ? she knows how much you'll get, no more...
