Hey there I am a cinematographer from OZ and I am in the market to purchase a HD Cam ,as the F900 has been discontinued according to Sony I was wondering if it is realistic to think about buying this camera, and what is around the corner??

Well, in terms of a camcorder, not a camera only like the Sony F950 or Thomson Viper, the rumor is that Sony will unveil a prototype replacement for the F900 at NAB in the Spring. They sort of have to replace the F900 to comply with the no-lead environmental EU laws, but it's also a design from the 1990's and has a lot of room for improvement.

At the very least, put an HDSDI out on the darn thing, Sony!
