Hello,

hope this is the right board for this question:
have any of you worked in projection, i.e. in a movie theater, or at a film set or film lab as dailies projectionist or technician?

What kind of machines have you used, what kind of machines are used at your production facilities, and which do you prefer?

Most of the machines i have seen around here (Germany) in various film labs, company screening rooms and so on seem to
be the Kinoton FP30EC or ES.

Greetings,
Marc

It depends what you want to use the projetcor for. If it is to project rushes, a projector with a 3 perf option is a must nowadays. The Arri Locpro has that and it is very portable as well. I've worked on films where we had one at the studio to project rushes and it was very easy to set up and use.

I have never used a Locpro 35 so far. What is your experience with the HTI light?
Is this useful for judging color (e.g. with timed rushes) at all?
(The HTI projections i saw so far looked terrible on screen: the reds were quite unsatisfactorily.. )
How does projection quality (resolution, contrast) of the Locpro compare to "regular" movie projectors
with Xenon and standard lenses?

Greetings,
Marc
