Hi, does anyone know the location they used to shoot the War scenes in the Green Day video "Wake Me Up When September Ends?" For that matter, does anyone know any "destroyed by war" filming locations in the greater Los Angeles region. I've checked cinemascout, etc, nuthn...

Hi,

Can you cite some stills from the video? Might be able to spot them, I guess.

People tend to use Battersea power station for post-apocalyptic type stuff.

Don't know exactly where Sam Bayer filmed Green Day's WMUWSE . You may want to contact his former production company, RSA and they'd tell you.

Kelso dunes in the Mojave desert is a great location. Check up in Lancaster, Palmdale or East of Los Angeles headed toward Indio.

As for abandoned "destroyed by war" looking buildings, sad to say, there are dozen upon dozens of commercial buildings all over the city, especially in downtown and South Los Angeles. Also in Ventura, San Bernardino and San Diego counties there are buildings gutted and partially destroyed by the wildfires of last year that have a bombed out, war affected look.
