Last year I purchased a set of Super 16/PL mount Zeiss MK III Super Speeds: 9.5, 12, 16 and 25mm. I also stumbled across a demo 50mm Super Speed MK III (35mm format) at Arri and grabbed that to add to the set.

I've noticed the 16mm-format lenses have the three-bladed triangular iris, while the 50mm has something that looks more circular (appears to be seven blades). I'm a little concerned about cutting footage shot with the different iris designs and was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to replace the 3-bladed units with sevens.

In a word, no. It would need such a radical rebuild of the lens and housing that it would never be worth the investment.

They modify Zeiss and Cooke lenses. I do not know to what extent. I believe you need about 500X
enlargement of image on cine lens, I do not know if differences in shutter designs effect that.

Just shoot everything wide open - or close to wide open - and your problem is solved.
