Crystal Sync for Beaulieu 4008 ZM II

Thought maybe some people would be interested to know that the Tobin TXM-20Ba crystal sync motor works great on the Beaulieu 4008 cameras with the sound sync shaft via a mounting plate.

All functions of the camera are done away with because the motor runs off it's own power supply, but no big loss, the camera runs great and there are no mods needed internally to the camera.

Very interesting rig. Does this cause any damage to the Beaulieu's internals? If not, Clive Tobin could find a whole new market for his motors.

I know that the Film Group charges $500 for their crystal sync conversions to Super 8 cameras; the Tobin motor is $495. A Tobin motor is bulkier, of course, but has the added advantage of being able to move from body to body.

The camera's internals aren't harmed at all, and the ability to move it from one camera to another was the reason I decided to make this in the beggining. I've got 3 cameras and I didn't feel like spending the money for three seperate TFG units. Pro 8mm will do each camera for about $1000.

For me this was cheaper.
