Hi my names Robert and i want to buy a good but affordable shotgun mic around $150 MAX. im going to use it for some serious homemovies that im going to make and of course also for normal every day use. i dont want the ones with XLR connection becaues theyre too expensive for me and require me to buy an adaptor. The ones im interested in are the Audio-Technia ATR-55 ($100), Azden Sgm-x ($150), Rode Videomic ($140) or the Sennheiser MKE-300 ($140)

I heard a lot of great things by Rode Videomic, but not impressed by its look. it looks a bit strange compared to the other shot gun mics. the At atr55 seems cheap and ok, but many people say its a piece of crap! i get mixed reviews for all of them except for the Videomic.

Pleaes help me out in narrowing my decisions and any advice or comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The Specs:

The Rode apparently has much better frequency response
