Can an inexpensive 60gig iPod replace P2 cards and the FireStore. Firewire HVX into an iPod instead of the FireStore. Would this work? Has anybody tried it?

thanks

I've heard of some people using an iPod to offload footage from the P2 cards, but the footage can't be streamed directly. In order to use the iPod as a dump drive, it would have to be formatted by the camera (so it couldn't be used as a music player at the same time).

This is what I found

It might be handy knowing a 60GB P2 costs 1800, while this combo 499+300 for the catapult with make it affordable, cant wait to see it

Ipods are not made to be HDDs and constantly spinning... also note that once you load footage the ipod is no longer an ipod and must be re-flashed with upod firmware. I already know 4 people who have killed their ipods with HVXs... not a good idea when using destructive p2 for acquisition.
