DLP vs. HD monitor

I recently started a new grade session which will be shoot with Varicam. My company has been working mostly for feature film(Film Camera) so Varicam(HD camera)is kind of a new stuff to us.
Before I and DP started a Camera test, I try to calibrate our monitor for HD cams. By the way we use a NEC 2K DLP for color grading. When I project a test image(luminance scale image) straight from the Panasonic Deck, the highlight above 235(in 8bit scale) clips. However if I project the same image from our color grading system(Baselight 8) after capturing, it shows full 255 white. What are possible factors for this issue? Just for another test, I viewed that same test image with our HD monitor straight from the deck, and HD monitor shows full 255. Is this just a DLP's calibration matter?
