If a line on your footage is from the your camera internally, shouldnt the line just be straight, not wavering. Like if it was from dirt in the gate?

A line that wavers is most likely not from inside the camera...or not necessarily?

Well, yes and no ...
If something in the gate is scratching your film it should remain stationary. If something elsewhere in the transport is causing a scratch, it could concievably wander.
