Has anybody with this camera noticed that the picture in the pullout screen has a magenta biased look to it?

I have a friend with the same camera and his is also the same.

Not that I would use the screen for accurate colour balances but it is offputting.

Yes, Tim

I have noticed that about mine although my screen is a little more blue than reality. It's too bad that there is not an adjustment to compensate.

I've noticed the 'magenta tinge' too. The flip out screen is certainly limited in its ability as a colour monitor but is useful for monitoring levels. Only the other day I was working with a BBC director and during a set-up for an impromptu interview he noticed the output on the monitor on the camera side and said 'hey that's useful, we can play this back after to make sure the interviewee is OK with her piece'. So, from my experience, the screen is a bit of a curate's egg, good in parts!

Gwynne.

P.S. I agree, we 450 owners need our own forum please.

I have just been advised by Sony that there is a fix for this. They are sending a part out from Japan to sort this out.

One of the Sony engineers found a bulliton on it. Will keep you posted. :)

Tim.

gwynne... you should talk to your dealer about it.

Thanks for the heads-up, Tim. Sony's service bulletins have a number; let us know if you get that, thanks.
