Sorry for the ignorant. (1) Does 'telecine' only refer to 'film being transfered to tape' ?
(2) Will improper telecine result noisy tape?

Hi,

Telecine is the process of transfering film to video. (including tape)

A bad telecine can result in horrible pictures, not just noisy or grainy.

Yeah you can also get flicker with the picture to. And sharpness and parts of the picture might not come out.
