Hi gentalmen , I Hope to gain some info. on preparing video equipment for freezing shooting conditions.

I have been offered a oppertunity to travel to the Antarctic and other Islands like Marion etc. I'm based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The producer asked If he should get a Sony HDCAM like the F 900 with a VTR and editing kit to go onto the ship, that can be used for a base while there and then in the South African Base while the ship is gone.

I would also like to use a remote Helicopter with camera to do aerial shots from the ship and when based in the area. Can equipment like that be bought or are they only for hire with a crew.

The shooting scedule will be one month , three months and one year.

Thank You
