When fixture's W is too big

Ex. You try to plug in a 8k watt light but only have a 20-30 amp circuit, what should you do?

to run a light of that size you would have to either rent a generator or tie in to another source of power for distribution. There is no way an 8k light will ever go on a household circut.

Cool, thank you. Also, is it a bad idea to to plug in two stingers together? (voltage drop?)

If you're talking about a halogen fixture and you have a range outlet handy; change the plug or build an adapter and install a 240 volt European bulb in the fixture. Range outlets are usually 50 amps so they have up to 12kW available. A dryer outlet would be a bit small, they're 30 amps, good for up to 7.2kW.

If you're talking about HMI fixtures, read the instructions to see how to switch the ballast to 240 volts and use the same gag as above.
