COLORNETTs create shifts in the color temperature as light passes through the fabric. Available in both gold and silver, COLORNETT will shift the color temperature of the light source or diffuse that source.
A single gold COLORNETT will lower the Kelvin temperature of the source by 400 degrees and a double will lower the Kelvin by 600 degrees.
A silngle silver COLORNETT will raise the Kelvin temperature of the source by 200 degrees and a double will raise the Kelvin by 350 degrees.
Light loss when using COLORNETT is minimal - a single will lose .4 stops and double .8 stops.
When used as an overhead COLORNETT will "warm up" (gold) or "cool down" (silver) the area covered. When used as scrims COLORNETT will allow certain fixtures to be isolated and color temperature manipulated in that particular instrument.
COLORNETT has been tested on both television and feature projects. Cinematographer James Chressanthis ASC used a single gold as part of set decoration on an episode of the hit series Ghost Whisperer, which he directed. He found it to be the "only way he could accomplish the shot." And, cinematographer Wally Pfister ASC tested his single gold on the upcoming feature The Prestige. Pfister finds COLORNETTs a unique source to extend light on exteriors.
COLORNETT is available in all standard overhead sizes as well as custom sizes up to 30'x100'. A full range of open end and closed frame scrims is also available.
