Hello, all.

Does anyone know how the opening shots of Sam Peckinpah's (and John Coquillon's) Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid were achieved? I'm referring to before the first scene in which Garrett is killed. The images before the scene were made to look like old photographs.

I'm the kind of guy that thinks that if they were to have shot the whole picture that way it would have been the greatest thing in the world.
