Hello to all!!!

I was just wondereng if anyone knows what type of gels are used in lighting scenes that have a notable color saturation of the light? Just to give some examples, as in City of God or Far from Heaven. Please feel free to comment other films or ideas about gelling the lights. Thank You!!

If it's the general hue you're after then that's a filter in post.
I'm sure someone on this discussion board will be able to tell you how.

Theoretically you could achieve a similar look by using filters on your camera but you'd need to know what you were doing - you'd be dropping the light level and permanenty changing the spectrum on your film stock.
