I've made an adapter similar to the redrock micro which works very well in standard def and am interested in trying to adapt it to an xdcam hd 330. The challenge is the relay lens. There's a 1/2 inch to Nikon adapter available on the net, which I'm interested in trying. However, a friend had a 2/3 inch to Nikon adapter which I tried in conjunction with a 1/2 inch to 2/3 inch adapter, but the back focus is so far out that even on infinity there's no way to crack focus on the spinning glass. (I tried this with lenses ranging from 24mm to 105mm with no success.) So I am sceptical that the 1/2 to Nikon adapter will be any better. Has anyone had any experience with this adapter? Any clues as to the best way of nailing the back focus/relay issue? I'm trying to avoid using the very ordinary lens that comes with the 330. I'm hoping that I can do the whole thing using Nikon lenses. Any suggestions?
