Hi, just rented a shotgun mic. Propack is attached to camera. Mic Attachment option is turned on. Shotgun mic is turned on with fresh batteries. Propack is set to 'mic' with volume turned up. Am I missing anything?

Does the mic need phantom power?

no, I bought a new xlr cable just in case so now I'm thinking it's the propack.

New battery in the mic? Right way round? If it's not phantom-powered it's likely battery-powered.

You are correct.

Propack require plugin to power it?
Camera have Phantom power?

Plug the mic into a mixer with phantom power and se if it works. If it does, it's something in your camera setup.
