Thoughts on showreel cover graphics

It is time to "relook" my showreel including cover graphics.
On one hand I think that just simple typography is best and to let the images "do the talking".
On the other hand, I do think that with the scores of showreels that prod. companies receive it would be good to have a cover that is somewhat enticing and sparks curiosity.
Any thoughts on this?
