crazy question concerning old arri standard mount schneider lenses.

i understand there were two lines of these old lenses, some marked CINE-XENON and some marked CINEGON.

i understand that one was a better quality line while the other was more average.can anybody let me in on this and enlighten me on the differences and quality differences?

Cinegons are retro-focus wide angle designs. The 10mm is newer than the 11.5mm.

The Cine-Xenons are standard gauss designs. The shortest is 16mm.

For 16mm format lenses there's no over lap of focal lengths between the two.

ok this helps but i still have questions.

if you go to http://www.sheltonco...m/arriflex.html youll have a see.

there are two or three versions for example in the 16mm, 25 and 50mm designs.
