Hello all,

I was slated to shoot a short on the DVX100B that has been bumped up to HD (most likely Varicam or F900). Most of my filmmaking experience has been with film, which I feel very familiar with. I also have shot a bunch with the DVX100B. We shoot in 14 days. Is it realistic to expect to learn the basics of the Varicam or F900 in that time period? I am reading the ops manuals, and will be attending demos.

Any thoughts?

Best,

Nope you should be sorted once you read the manual and put it to memory. Worst thing you could do is not know the full potential of the camera your using and what its functions actually do. Sorry for pointing out the obvious.

Goodman's guide would be helpful. http://www.amazon.co...343017?v=glance

Study up and I'm sure you'll be fine. It's not that complicated of a camera if you are at all familiar with other types of cameras.

Good Luck!
