Hi, Andres,

Yes, you can use a R16 mag with a S16 ACL camera; however, you're taking a chance that there will be scratching.

When you use single-perf film in S16, the non-perforated area is used for the extra width of S16. In non-S16 magazines, the rollers were designed for double-perf film. For S16 the magazine rollers are cut back so that there is no chance of scratching. Also, the mag pressure plate pressure is adjusted slightly for one side having perforations and the other side now being smooth.

Cheers,
Bernie
