Hi-
I am getting quotes from post houses to do the telecine on a 35mm short and was offered a very good deal by one place who would do the transfer using the DSX cintel. On others advice, I was originally planning to do a telecine with the Spirit to HD, down convert to dvcam for editing and then do a tape to tape color correct from the masters to finish on HD. To be honest I don?t know much about post and don?t know anything about the DSX and am not sure if is comparable to the Spirit and worth it to sacrifice a quality telecine for economic reasons. Is there a huge difference between the two? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I rather like C-Reality (DSX immediate forerunner) but have not had the chance yet to do a HD transfer on one.

Maybe they can give you a short test first ?
