Hi,

I'm shooting a music video this weekend and it will feature a signifigant amount of ice. I was planning on keying the artist with a chimera, but I want to highlight the diamonds as much as possible.

In a video like "Grills" by Nelly did they use any special lighting techniques?

I am pretty decent with Shake so I can always add a fake sparkle/lens flare but I thought I'd ask if anyone has any other ideas. Maybe some commercial DP's.

Thanks.

Hi,

Very small, very bright sources. Think of MR16s. There's a Swarovski crystal store in town where I live, and they've it it all with blue dichroic MR16s, which means that along with its own bright diffracted colours, the crystal picks up the colours from the lighting. The colour of the light doesn't have to be a big part of the scene, just enough to produce highly chromatic specularity in the jewels.
