I'm wondering if anyone has about 30 seconds of clips I could use in a test edit of home movie footage shot on super 8mm. Kids at play in the back yards, parents with children, carnivals, beaches, jumping into water, any footage that has some emotion in it, happy, smiling, laughing, etc. If you have a digital version you could upload to my FTP or other would be even better.

Thanks in advance....

Couldn't you grab a super 8 camera and film some of this footage yourself?

I have three VHS tapes filled with family footage from approx 1950-1965, it's all 8mm, not super8, but I use it here and there to make music videos. tons of babies, and christmas presents. I quote professor Lau from SFSU, "people love to shoot babies". I'm estimating over 6 hours of footage. I only digitize what i want, so you could barrow a tape, but they are extremely important to me and would like to feel comfortable with the person I'm lending them to. I live in the sunset of San francisco and only offer this because you're probably my neighbor.

Kirk,

Thanks for the offer. I ended up finding some footage of my father and his sisters from the 1950's and 60's. I would have tried to shoot some myself but I essentially needed it to happen overnight, or so. Not a big deal, this should work. And now it is going to be on VH1 this Saturday night so this way I don't have to deal with any rights/clearances.

Cheers,

Rod
