Hi

I just brough a super16 SRII but it doesnt have a video tap. I was told that all I need is a Jergens video assist, and a video tap and I can set it up myself. My questions are is this correct, and if so where can I buy a Jergens assist and a video tap, preferably second hand?

Thanks,
James

Hi James,

Congrats on your new camera. The Jurgen's video taps are fantastic, but unfortunately he has stopped making them. You can still find them from time to time on the used market, many times already attached to a J-bar, but you will need to really search as few people are selling them.

Back when you could buy them new, they really weren't something you could attach yourself, as the optics had to be very precisely aligned. You would send your J-bar to Jurgens and they would install the tap. They you would usually buy the video camera from them as well.

Hope that helps,
-Tim
