Hi,

Could you kindly brief me on the various applications of a periscope lens system in our field. And is the Frazier lens system similar to that of a periscope?

Thanks

Ashim,
Please change your user name to your real name. It's a rule on this forum.

Periscope lens (also called a snorkel) are useful any time you can't get the camera directly into position for the shot, such as when you are shooting miniatures (because the camera is too big to get the right shot) - also when you want the lens at a right angle, or any angle that is different than the camera body.

The bad thing about periscopes is you lose a lot of light in them. Yes, a Frazier is a periscope, with both ends being able to rotate - a cheaper way to get many of the same shots you could get with a Frazier would be to mount the camera on a jib or crane with a Weaver-Steadman head and use a regular persicope.

I'm not sure what being an American or not has to do with it....
I don't doubt that Ashim is your first name, but I'm guessing you don't only go by one name like "Cher". Do you have a last name? If so, please include it in your login name.
