Hey Gang,

Just rented the recent Wicker Man. What the heck happened to this movie? Does anyone else here think it stunk? I couldn't believe that was Nic Cage. I'm figuring it was plain old bad directing. It just came off as amateurish as a porn movie. Not that I have ever made anything better, it's just that I've never seen Nic do a job that I didn't respect... until this.

I usually don't get this worked up over things like this. Maybe, it makes me feel better about the dogs I've made. I dunno.

Sorry, have not seen the new version but the 1973 original is considered a cult classic, I don't know why someone would think it was a good idea to remake it.

Cage always wanted to remake this flick; apparently it was a promise he made to the late Johnny Ramone. Unfortunately they just didn't get it right. The original was just perfectly creepy. The remake missed on every note - it tries to spoon-feed horror to the audience which is just a horrible idea.
