I'm going to direct my first feature this year. I have some money for production and attaching actors, but I don't have the full amount so I'm putting together the package before I hit investors. What are the options for attaching DP's to a project assuming they like the script? Pay or Play offers? Some money down?

Honestly, there's no point in attaching a DP to a project before it is funded. Investors don't really care and most DP's are too busy to be tied to a project with no firm start date.

Once you are really close to shooting but don't have all the money in place, just part of it, and have nearly-firm shooting dates, you can consider hiring a DP with a minimal guarantee of work (i.e. no matter what, they get "x" number of weeks of pay even if the film doesn't happen.)
