Editing Job- How much to charge?

Client wants 30min talk show to be edited. Mostly just adding names and transitions.

Need some more info here - format, shooting ratio, editing time estimate (if possible), what kind of client, your experience level... etc. Even then I can't personally give a good answer, but I doubt anyone can with so little info to go on.

Total budget would also be also be a good indicator - it's all relative.

For a half hour talk show that's just adding names and transitions- figure 2 to 4 hours, 40 bucks and hour if editing digitally on PC. HD (NOT HDV, true HD) would be more.

??? $40 an hour, that's an assistant wage. and it makes no difference what format you are editing on if you are offline editing, which is the assumption i make from the initial post.
