No one seems to own one of this mysterious camera, I was wondering what the hell is wrong with it, I was also wondering if the 1:8 6.5-65mm lens is the same one used on the Sankyo CME 1100, if so, is that a bad thing?

Thanks.

I have one, it's a cool as heck camera. I haven't used it yet. I'm saving up finances to have a bunch of my cameras serviced.

Yeah the Nalcom is a good looking camera, reminds me of a hasselblad.

This camera looks pretty similar in terms of features but in a Nizo or Bauer inspired body.
I'd guess it's the same lens and optical set up, but I've never seen either in the real.

That is a cool ad, thanks for sharing. I guess this kind of proves that most Super-8 camera had their "secret twin" somewhere out there, I had no idea about this camera.

Of course. If you like this kind of thing you might want to have a look on the other forum for the screensaver topic.

I am confused by the inclusion of this particular camera ad, as I am pretty sure it's not the camera in question.

The Carena is the twin of the Nalcom.

Then I guess it'sin the specs, because it certainly doesn't look like the Nalcolm FTL

The Carena and Nalcom seem to have similar body types.

i have a NALCOM FTL. it needs a bit of work tho. i wish i could talk about its performance, but i shot a whole roll with it
and when i got back the footage it was void of an image. however, it is cool looking. has a nice weight and i thought i looked cool shooting with it.

ha ha. The secret is to have another camera filming you as you film with it. Then you can do an
autobiographical documentary.

If you want to look cool while filming, get a Beaulieu 4008. If you want a reliable camera that won't cause frustration, get a Canon 814 or 1014. I work at a film school and these are unbelievably tough cameras. Despite the impressive-looking lens, the Nalcom is going to cause you grief.
