Hi i was at tests of high end HD cameras at Shepperton Studios organised by Geoff Boyle on saturday , name a camera it was there and Panavision Genesis was going to be there ,on call sheet but what a shock it didnt show , we were all so stunned [NOT] . Whats there problem , if it was best HD camera in the world wouldnt use , what they scared of . film was shot as well to compare .

Maybe there was a less suspicious reason for its absence? Double-booked, emergency maintenance or something? What was the reason that they gave Mr. Boyle?

I cant answer that question yet , it was very busy day testing all these cameras didnt get chance to ask Geoff, but its just not the first time by any means .

I don't think Panavision feels any need to put the Genesis out there for comparison testing, at least not yet. It gets plenty of rental work now as is.

But eventually you know someone is going to do it.

I don't think there is any mystery left these days as to how the Genesis performs in general. Yes, a side-by-side test against the Arri-D20 would be informative though to compare noise, contrast, etc.
