CAn anyone tell me what's the difference between putting a filter on camera or in the telecine? For example a black promist. And how these affects to the final image?

Thanks!

If you're transferring from a negative, an optical diffusion filter in telecine will make dark areas of the image "glow" or "bleed" into surrounding lighter areas -- kind of the opposite of the same filter on the lens, which makes highlights glow instead.

Diffusion in telecine will also affect more of the full range of luminance in the image, since that range is much more compressed than the real light entering the camera's lens. You might also need a different strength filter in telecine than you would use on the lens to create the same amount of softening.
