I'm 18 years old and am in my first year of college (film school) in Brazil. I'm very interested in cinematography and intend to pursue it as a career but so far I've had almost no training or guidance.
I have a PV-GS400 camera and have shot a few short films with my friends using it, but that's about it. I have a vague notion of basic cinematography but I'd like your advice on how to get started. I will commit myself to studying and learning as much as i can, but I'm looking for guidance and a place to start.
Think back to when you knew nothing, what gave you the basic knowledge so you could get to where you are now? Books, internet, important names of cinematography, whatever you think might help. I wanna build a strong base to support my future knowlodge. Please don't say wait till college teaches you all that, it wont and I want more than that.
Thank you very much for all the help.
