Letterbox a 4x3 image to 2.35 in post. or
Shoot in 16x9 squeeze mode, letterbox to 2.35 in post. or
Use a 1.33X anamorphic adaptor in 4x3 mode to create 16x9, then letterbox to 2.35 in post. or
Use a 1.33X anamorphic adaptor in 16x9 squeeze mode, then convert in post to 16x9 anamorphic with a 2.35 letterbox.

Trouble is that TV sets are either 4x3 or 16x9, so a 2.35 image has to be letterboxed within those two types of recordings for final display. Unless this is for a transfer to film.

Hi,

Ooh, that'll be nice. NTSC PD170, 480 lines of picture, less about 50% for the letterbox, less 50% for the deinterlace and convert to 24p.

Why don't you shoot it on a Nipkow disk scanner, it'll be higher resolution and native progressive!
