needing a barney (sound cover) for my Bolex EBM
as well as the magazine too.

thinking about making my own, but like to get input
from anyone who's seen/heard/or build their own.

I've actually heard that the German method of
using rabbit fur lined with canvas kills sound more
than anything like fiberglass insulation, or other.

any thoughts?

any info might be helpful ?

thanks

This doesn't directly address your question, but an old down jacket can be wrapped around your camera. You might also try a leather jacket - the heavier leather is probably a better sound insulator.

I haven't heard that about the rabbit fur and canvas approach, but I think it's not right. You need something more dense, like lead-lined vinyl. If you look at the typical Rycote-style microphone windscreen, you'll note that fur (or faux fur, these days) is used to cut down on wind noise, but must of course let everything else through.

Sound insulation materials are available on the internet for those who take the do-it-yourself approach - you can Google it. Hope this helps.
