Hi,
I´ll be shooting a documentary in Spain (where i live) and Canada.
As i belive television in Canada is based on NTSC system.
If it was a spanish doc i´d use Pana HDX900 at 25p.
The thing is i´d like to be able to output a high quality dvd in NTSC format for Canada, and another for PAL countries.
What would be the best shooting aproach? 25p?
is the hdx900 diferent in spain and in canada?
is it better to work with another camera system? i´d like to get the best of both systems( NTSC,PAL) but if some preference is needed it would be for NTSC

Thanks
Fulgen

PAL converts better to NTSC than the other way around, but it would be even better to shoot & post 25P in HD than SD for conversion to PAL and NTSC.

The simple conversion is to just run 25P as a 24P project and add a 3:2 pulldown for 60i NTSC broadcast (and/or release it as a 24P/480 project on Region 1 DVD's.)

24P or 25P works for both PAL and NTSC, just don't shoot 30P if you want a PAL release.

So is the hdx900 the same model in Ntsc and in Pal countries?
will i nedd to take a spanish hdx900 with me to shoot 25p in canada?
Will i nedd a NTSC hdx to shoot 24p in Spain?
I´ve heard 25p is better than 24p because of editing issues.
Anyone knows about this?
Thanks

25p will give you more options in the edit suite- simple for downconverts etc. if the programme is only for spain then i'd stay 25p, but if it will be shown in ntscland then 24p could be considered, though personally i have seen some very good hd 25p to 30p/60i conversions.
