There will be four short cuts of Super-8 Cities Docs on the 4Docs website soon: Singapore, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Exeter.

Although my own, Exeter, was the last one submitted, bizarely it is the first one they have posted.

I will post the other links as they become available.

The MPEG4 roughs up Super-8 in an unkind way (at least YouTube makes everything look poop) but there you go.

If you like the films please register with the site and leave some good ratings and feedback if you can - which will help promote the project, the sequel project and the use of Super-8 in general.

I know the guys at 4Docs like Super-8, in fact the assistant editor was at one point part of the project, so it is a good avenue for online screenings of s8 films.

This is what the editor had to say about the short cut of Exeter:

"The sentiments of this doc are in the right place and the central idea of an alien's view of a provincial British city is a timely one. Its style is rather fey but, like many Super 8 films, it wins points from the joy of the colours on show. Even Exeter looks like an alien landscape on Super 8, which of course fits the subject of the doc."

At this very moment your link is down, but it sounds like it is a temporary thing.

What did you to send to them for them to upload?

Did they give you a choice of format that you could submit, and what was their order of preferences?

They only accept Quicktime MPEG4 (no H.264) 3000kbs keyframed at 25fps

It kills super-8 compared to the H.264 codec, which has a nice habit of crushing grain also.
