I shot footage with the HVX - 720p/24pn in letterbox mode. I opened up a new project in Avid at 720/23.97. when I pulled up the MXF files they look stretched out and don't contain the 16:9 black matte.

Why did this occur and how can I fix this?

Are the files stretched vertically? Are your monitors set to 16:9? If not the rightclick on the monitors and click the "use 16:9" button.

Please let me know if this was the solution. I am about to embark on the same format shoot and I am trying to anticipate problems.
thanks!
