I am doing a short film using a consumer great DV camera (Canon ZR70) and trying to mimic the look of my all time favorite film, the PT Anderson movie "Magnolia". Any advice on how to do this on a shoestring budget (under $100?)

Thanks.

Light, compose, and move the camera like "Magnolia"? What exactly about the look are you responding to? It was shot in 35mm anamorphic with a shallow depth of field, which would be hard to emulate on a small consumer camera.
