Konvas 17EP-16APK motor with new, microprocessor-based controllers

I wish inform about modification of 17 EP-16 APk motor of Konvas-1M, Konvas-2M cameras
on version 17EP-1414-16-DC-FC with 16 crystal sych speed with LED display and digital film
counter with LED display.

The 17EP-1414-16 motor upgrade for the Konvas-1M, Konvas-2M replaces the original Russian electronics with a new, microprocessor-based controllers.
This new controllers
modernizes the original 17EP-16 APK and advances the motor's basic operation to the same level of current 35 mm motion picture cameras.

Some of the new features include:
? 16 speeds , 6.25, 8, 12, 12.5, 15, 16, 16.6, 20, 24, 25, 30, 32, 33,3, 40, 48, 50 fps.
? Microprocessor-based synchronization at all speeds (crystal sync)

This is list included a few series of speeds :
- for ? academy ? film shooting with base speed 24 fps and a speeds divisible by 24 : 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48 fps.
- for PAL TV shooting and 50 HZ frequency of main power, with base speed 25 fps and a speeds divisible by 25 fps : 6.25, 12.5, 16.6, 25, 33,3, 50 fps
- for NTSC TV shooting and 60 Hz frequency of main power, with base speed 30 fps and a speeds divisible by 30 fps : 8, 12, 15, 20, 24, 30, 40, fps

? Digital LED display of speed and film counter display to show the speed of camera and camera's current film usage .

The microprocessor-based electronics upgrade is designed to precisely rotate the motor at the selected frame rate. This guarantees that both the frame rate will remain accurate while running, and that the camera will maintain perfect sync with other equipment (such as a DAT recorder). While running, if the motor is not achieving sync at the selected frame rate for any reason, the red LED on the top of the handle will light up and the out-of-sync tone will sound.

The electronics have function a motor stopping at fixed position of mirror disk.
This is function work very good without twitching and unnecessary turns.
The original electronics of 17EP-16 APK have ? twitching problem ? at function of stopping a motor at fixed position.

The motor is equipped with a Phase/Inch button. Pressing this button while the motor is stopped (inch) will run the motor at a very low speed. This is useful for verifying proper movement of the film through the magazine following a camera reload. If the button is pressed while the motor is already running (phase), it will momentarily vary the motor's speed by a slight amount. This is useful for fine tuning the camera's shutter phase when photographing television monitors or other synchronized devices.

The motor can be equipped with a digital LED display that indicates the camera's current film usage. While running, this film counter will increment as film is moved through the camera's magazine.
The film counter can display film usage in either feet or meters. The currently selected mode will be displayed when the power source is connected.
The motor have 4 pin XLR connector and new fuse holder for international glass fuses.
The new electronic have protection from connect battery with reversal polarity.

The output stage of new electronic have high power reserve 55 v 75 A.

The other versions of upgrade of electronics of 17EP-16 APK motors can have microprocessor-based electronics of ?II Generation of electronics ? with speed synthesizer and LED display of speed.

speed 5 5-50 fps, step 0.002 fps display XX.XXX

The III Generation of electronics included high intelligence system with wide technical possibilities of programming of speed control and high precision speed control with step of speed 0.001 fps.
You can load of a few ( 1?36 pcs ) memory cells, of crystal synch speed at range 5.000- 50.000 fps with step of 0.001 fps, and can load more 45000 speeds
The system have 5 digital led display.

The processor have intelligent program of motor acceleration and deceleration.
You can programming of linear or nonlinear function of change of speed of camera, you can programming of acceleration and deceleration of camera at one time of shooting.

The electronics can additional modules of Remote control with LED display. The remote control can run, stop of camera, adjust of phase of speed, run camera with low speed, show result of counter of film, can have digital voltmeter, show not synch speed, have sound signal. Can work on distance 10..20 meters from camera.
