Hey all...

I just got some bad news for myself. I was trying to get and the film gate on my K-3, and somehow mannaged to mess up the mainspring :( :( :( :( :( :( . Now I am told that it would be cheeper just to get a new one off of eBay. I talked to Bernie O, he says its not likely that it could be repaired for less then a new one. maybe I'll poke around in the internals a little more and see what I cant mess up more now.

Anyway, I am now very dipressed. I feel like an idiot for actualy going and opening it up. Someone slap me?

Later,
A very depressed Dory

crap! (and slap!)

I know the feeling - I've come close to a few paper weights with my Bolexes but have been lucky the local tech had the spare parts in his stock (otherwise its off to Switzerland we go in a Lear jet) -

Watch out for those springs Dory - as a matter of fact dont 'watch out' for them - they can take out an eye just like that - whapoing! - and your bleeding and blind...

Wear safety google as least - a welders mask even

Well, this may be a bit of a blessing in disguise, because I know have the chance to get a super 16 K-3 cheep. If not taht one, ten atleast one with a screw mount.

yeah man you should stab me in the jaw. i'm going to try and fix it myself, but i doubt it. it would be so nice if i could....

the thing that realy tears me up is that i did it EXACTLY how NCS shows on their website.

Hehehehe! I just fixed it :D :D :D :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just a couple of reflectiosn....

ALWAYS have a good set of VERY SMALL screw drivers around when you tear into your K-3.

DONT remove ANY of the set screws. If you do, make sure to magnatize your screwdriver, as it will save you a TON of trouble.

DONT Remove the loop formers yourself, it could very well end up in you needing to remove the fil counter. I'm having to re-build my own   <_< .

Make sure EVERYTHING is fit JUST right before you are done. Run a test roll and get it developed before you use it for a serious shoot. I still havent done said action.
