I am thinking of shooting Super16 for a feature in the summer. I wanted to know if Kodak offers free samples (say two rolls) so I can test out the look. If it's something they do routinely, great. If it is a matter of approaching them the right way, please let me know how.

If you are a student yes. They have 'donation' film. Contact a lady named Gale Sanchez at Kodak.

You can get two 100 foot rolls i believe. Thats what i did.

Hi,

I have heard that Fuji can get generous with returned film.

Kodak has always been very generous with donating film, at least in my experience. A lot of it depends on how much film you plan to buy. Some recent tests I shot, Kodak donated 1200' for them. Just explain to them what you are doing.

I second, or triple that.

Both Fuji and Kodak have been very generous with giving free film for
my filmaking.

Always say youre a poor student, and be very kind and thankful. Thatll do the trick.
