Looking for technical specs on the music video.

I have Mark Romanek's DVD, I'm aware Jeff Cronenweth shot it, but I'm interested in spec's like lenses, film stocks, filtration, lighting.

If it's out there point me in the right direction.

I dont have any specifics for you but it is one of my favorite videos. Great track too. I would love to know more about it as well.

Cronenweth usually shoots on Panavision and their Primos.

Love this video too, comes upvery often as a reference... Any idea what the lighting scheme was for the party scene, looks like a large source high above the camera, sometimes it looks like a toplight (the boy crowd surfing)... I am thinking Jeff probably used a old type fresnel, big eye, for a vintage look, with very little diffusion, accentuated the light on the main subject with another light above the camera 2k fresnel OT or sometnig like that... Looks like all the lights are coming from one direction anyway... I'd like to have a second opinion on that, a more educated guess maybe!!

The rest is clearly buckets of baby oil all over the talent- Conrad Hall use to do this all the time.

Amazing how Romanek could engage with and make interesting one of (to my ears) the worst songs of the 1990s. That's just Romanek though.


Hah I cant believe you dont like the song, its a classic. Im interested in the baby oil and what effect this has does it accentuate some sort of reflectivity on the skin or what?. It all looks toplit or mostly, most of the people in the vid have their faces angled up, chins high, to get the light onto their faces.
