i'm a little confuse, because the other day i read an article and they say "shoot at 3 perf Super 35mm give 3 minutes more per magazine" and then they say " you can't print it, you have to do in D.I..." ; why you can't print the material...??? then i suppose the problem here is in the negative the frames are too close (tight) or i'm wrong...

thanks

Sure you can print it - but then what are you going to do with it ?

Show me a 3 perf projector ;)

To print in non-continuously is possible (?) but probably costly and not worth the original savings in film (???)

3perf to 4perf conversions (even Super 35 to anamorphic) are no problem at all and I know of several places in Europe (Arri Lab, Color by Dejonghe) who offer this service. The German film downfall was done this way for instance. I don't know the financial specifics, but I strongly suppose that there are savings.
